Double pink Ornamental cherries
Prunus Kanzan
Are you looking for mature cherry blossom trees grown in the UK? The elegant Double Pink Flowered Cherry is one of the most renowned Japanese Cherry varieties. Its vase-shaped crown grows as wide as it is tall. In the spring, long stalked bunches of vivid pink blossoms are framed by bronze-green leaves to spectacular effect.
A reliable variety, the Double Pink Flowered Cherry eventually reaches a height of 12m (35ft) in 20 – 40 years. With its wide, arching branches, it is suitable for most gardens or parkland positions, particularly in full sun.
Mature cherry blossom trees prefer fertile, loamy and moist alkaline soils. Add substantial organic matter before planting in poor soil. The Double Pink Flowered Cherry is not suitable for waterlogged or permanently wet ground.
